Here on the Daedalus, we call this work “terraforming”: adapting stories to thrive in new media environments.

You are currently standing on the bridge of the premier terraforming frigate commissioned by I&P Story Works.

We travel from storyline to storyline, using the Metis Measure to transform old ideas into living, breathing worlds. You can't just build a media property anywhere there's space: you need to know the system, its physics, and who your settlers might be. We don’t just prospect for good sites, but transform old worlds and sustain their success long after project launch. The crew of the Daedalus doesn’t just terraform: we track the progress of ongoing projects as well.

New recruits should head to The Metis Academy. You’ll learn about the Measure, how we use it, and what it does for our clients. The Archives have salvage reports from failed IP projects, audits of success stories, and evaluate current prospects. The bulk of our work happens in The Projection Lab where we use the Metis Measure to become prophets of profit. We don’t just predict whether something will succeed or not: we map its total trajectory.

THE METIS MEASURE

Stories have souls.

We can quantify those souls and apply the latest scientific theories to transform them. The Metis Measure unlocks the dynamic circumstances shaping a story, the way it interacts with the world around it, and predicts the many possible trajectories a terraformed story can take.

By working with the inherent properties of a property, leaning into the laws of social physics, and keying into the latest trends, I&P Story Works creates new universes from the dying embers of old souls. More than just bringing old ideas back, we recreate them to grow the story. We don’t just terraform the properties we measure, we better them.
